Livejournal implemented a new release yesterday and some personal information might be compromised because of it. The announcement has 700+ replies and some people are actually contacting the Better Business Bureau about the privacy breech.

They implemented a lot of "fixes" and "improvements" that you may have noticed (e.g. the new pop-up menu when you hover over a user.) What you might not have noticed are all the new bugs that seem to rather random. Some people are able to see the f-locked and the private entries of other users/communities even if they are banned from that particular user/community. Not only that, but some people are being taken to another user's entries when they try edit their own. Same goes for the redirect to edit profiles, edit journal information/settings, managing userpics, and even checking your message inbox. Saying that people are pissed and ~wanky would be an understatement.

So, looking for played-bys for a family tree can be really frustrating, right? Well, I suppose that really goes for any PBs under the age of 20. ANYWAY. My solution has always been to "brute force" my search by picking a birth year that would put the PB in the age-range I'm wanting and look them up on IMDB like so, then proceed to click my way down the list to look for people with galleries which results in A LOT more options. I've saved you the trouble (on the birth year 1993, at least) by grabbing only the people who have image galleries and sorting them by gender. There was 193 total for this year. Have fun clicking! I've found a lot of kid PBs this way. And I've made the post public. :]

The standard LJlogin 2.1.0 had the site icons (icons that represent each site in your FF taskbar) all in the same color shirt (blue). That wasn't working for me and I kept confusing which site I was logging into. It can be very frustrating when you click the wrong site icon repeatedly.

So, I have taken the .xpi install file and unzipped it, then unzipped the ljlogin.jar file and made the following changes:

1) Altered the site icons by giving each a different colored shirt:
>> Livejournal - standard blue
>> Scribbld - red
>> JournalFen - yellow
>> Greatestjournal - green

Insanejournal and Deadjournal already have domain specific icons so there was no need to change them.

2) Added the two newest site schemes Monodramatic and Monodramatic w/Sidebar to the Insanejournal preferences.

I zipped everything back up and made a new .xpi install file. Download Link

To install: Open Firefox and double click on the ljlogin.xpi file. It will install the new LJlogin like every other extension.
Note: You may need to uninstall the old LJlogin in order for this extension to install/work properly.

Note 2.0: There is still a bug in the original LJlogin code that occurs whenever one of the sites doesn't load properly. It causes some or all of the LJlogin site icons to disappear from your Firefox taskbar. (I ran into this problem while working on the new file because Scribbld is down.) Thankfully, it's an easy fix:

1) Right click any of the LJlogin icons and select Preferences.
2) Uncheck the box next to the site that isn't loading.
3a) It worked. Hit the Close button.
3b) It didn't work, i.e. the other icons do not show up in the taskbar. Toggle their checkboxes (even if they're already checked) a couple times and/or restart Firefox.

You can re-enable the disabled site login later when the site is loading.

Made these, oh, 8 months ago when I was considering picking up Polaris at a game but never finished the set because the game fell through. Completely forgot I had them until I was cleaning up my folders just now. Some of them I like, others not so much. I may end up making more. If I ever decide to play Lorna again. XD
